The posting of today is a video to introduce "performa RE3D" which is a new BIM (Building Information Modeling) program of Quartz Sys (Seokyoung Systems). performa RE3D is Autodesk Revit add-on "3D reverse engineering solution" for MEP Facility Management.
It extracts 3D objects from Point Cloud Data through RE3D engine and interworks the 3D shapes with the properties in Revit family.
It can set object properties, and its IFC-certified "RE3D Viewer" can visualize 3D objects comparing with the objects showed in Revit.

The following video shows the process that performa RE3D extracts 3D objects from initial Point Cloud Data through its RE3D Engine, automatically generates the extracted objects in Autodesk Revit tool and then checking the generated objects by using its RE3D BIM Viewer.
The video shows the result of modeling Marina Bay Sands Singapore (MBS) in 3D with its photos through using Pix4D Mapper. Quartz Sys's sister company in South Korea, Seokyoung Systems, is a premium reseller of Pix4D.
To make the 3D Model of MBS, about 1,100 images were used to extract the point clouds which were needed for 3D shape of the model. The pictures of MBS were taken just by hand not by using any drone this time.
Many asked us how to take pictures of the top part of buildings without flying a drone. In fact, we used "Fisheye Lens". Whole buildings can be showed in the angle of view of each image if they are taken with Fisheye Lens.
Adjusting centers or correcting distortion of images are automatically done in Pix4D mapper program.
We can measure BIM model objects through the BIM program "performa Manager", which is BIM program IFC-certified from buildingSMART International. The video shows how to measure the size of BIM Model objects in 3D.
After importing and visualizing the building information data in 3D in performa Manager screen , click the icon "Ruler", and the Measuring function will start. Click the point of the object from which you want to start, and the line will be drawn as the mouse is going and the size will be expressed together. If you want to remove the line and size expressed, just click the line again.

This posting is to study how to use "Sectioning" function of construction BIM (Building Information Modeling) program, performa Manager. When you section the BIM objects in 3D after choosing a plane to see, the program will visualize the sections as doing parallel movement to the plane you selected.
Let's try using the sectioning function as follows: ▷ In performa Manager, import and visualize BIM model data (IFC file) in 3D and then click "Section" icon.
▷ When transparent blue screen appears, choose which plane of the building to be sectioned.
▷ After deciding which plane to see, move the mouse on the transparent blue screen, and the screen will do parallel movement the selected section plane showing the planes cut by the screen.
▷ You can rotate the transparent blue screen and do parallel movement to the direction rotated showing the planes cut by the screen.
▷ When you click "Visible Section Plane" icon next to "Section", the transparent blue screen which covered the sectioned place will disappear.
The Blue screen which expressed sectioning is removed.
